Nick gained a degree in sociology before later becoming an officer in the Royal Marines.
In 2015 he put all his experiences to good effect and earned an MBE for his leading role in planning and delivering and enduring, multinational event which forms a cornerstone of the UK's very high readiness forces.
Life after the Marines saw him qualify as a financial adviser before returning to the field of leadership and management, becoming a Chartered Member of the CMI in 2021 and subsequently a Companion of the CMI in 2024. Now he’s on a mission to help others discover the power they can have to drive positive change.
Beyond work, Nick lives by the adage, "Once a Marine, always a Marine" and likes to ensure he can still hold his own in the mountains or on a pull up bar!
He served for 13 years, completing two tours of Afghanistan and spending four years working with the Special Forces. He worked on strategic reviews and operational designs of key parts of Defence, worked internationally with a range of stakeholders and managed people in groups ranging from small, specialist teams to organisations of thousands. As a military communications specialist he blended his leadership and management skills with technology and information systems, proving technically as well as operationally proficient.
