#Empowerment and #coordination

Nick O'Sullivan
We all tend to know, on some level at least, that the way to get the best from people is to just let them do their job.

Taken to it’s ultimate conclusion that doesn’t leave much space for management.

And yet when you have more than one person involved in soothing, a certain level of coordination is required. Not enough and the conditions are set for counter productive activity and friction. Too much and that’s micro management (and certainly not empowerment).

So a judgement for any leader/manager is getting the right balance.

And the right balance can vary on a range of factors – sometime on an hourly basis! Is the balance right in your organisation? Of not, how could it be better?
